Willa Needler

Willa Needler was certified in Connective Tissue Therapy by Theresa Lamb in 1984, and subsequently worked with Lamb in training other candidates, including her colleagues Jackie Hand and John Chanik, in Connective Tissue Therapy.

Willa is certified in Laban Movement Analysis from the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (1983), in Chinese Herbal Studies from the Swedish Institute of New York (1994), and has been a Certified Remotivation Therapist since 1980. She has been continually Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork with the NCBTMB since 1992. She holds a B. A. degree from Barnard College and an M. A. in Dance from Wesleyan University.

Willa taught Modern Dance, Movement Improvisation, Fundamentals of Movement and Alignment, Movement for Special Populations, and Teaching Dance to Children, at Wesleyan University from 1976 to 1983. She has conducted movement classes throughout the state of Connecticut, specializing in Movement Re-education, Improvisation, and Group Dynamics. She was a co-founder of Sonomama Improvisation Dance Theatre, in which she performed and taught from 1971 to 1984.

In 1983 Willa founded Body Learning, where she has continually maintained in New Haven, Connecticut a full-time private practice in Connective Tissue Techniques, Movement Re-education, and Body Movement Therapy.
